BPH/Prostate

Holmium Laser, involves using a laser to vaporise excess prostate tissue, which eases the blocked urethra and leaves a clear channel for urine to flow. The benefits of the system include a quicker return to normal activity following treatment and a shorter period of time in hospital when compared with the commonly used procedure transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP)

HOLEP VS TURP
Holmium laser technology for prostate allows you to enucleate cleanly without relying too much on the resectoscope to separate the adenoma from the surgical capsule. This is safer, less side effective for the patient, as physical separation using the resectoscope tip typically causes more tissue damage, bleeding and incontinence. Holmium laser is excellent, minimally invasive, effective and safe alternatives to traditional TURP and open prostatectomy. The prostate enucleation with Ho:YAG is less prone to recurrences or complications (such as TURP syndrome or bleeding during and after surgery) and involves shorter periods of catheterization and hospitalization. Thanks to their excellent hemostatic effect, they are recommended in case of surgery on cardiopathic patients or those with coagulation problems (e.g. under those being treated with anticoagulants). Moreover, the use of the morcellator, unlike other procedures, allows for histopathological analysis to be performed on excised tissue in all cases.
HoLEP
(Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate)

Advantages Of HoLEP

Excellent hemostasis & No deep penetration

Treatment of patients under anticoagulant therapy

Quick recovery time – short hospital stay

Less postoperative care

Short catheterization time in BPH treatment

Precise surgery

Reusable and disposable fibers

Color neutral safety glasses

Shorter anesthesia times reduce operative stress to the patient.

TURP
(Transurethral resection of the prostate)

Benefits Of TURP

Bad hemostasis

Long recovery time and hospital stay

Stressful postoperative care

Long catheterization time in BPH treatment

Unpredictable side effects

Frequently Asked Questions

The advantages of Holep vs Turp
Transurethral vapor resection of the prostate (TURP) and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP) are new treatment modalities for the treatment of BPH. TURP has been used in the surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and remains the standard gold treatment. HOLEP is another alternative effective for the surgical treatment of BPH. Each procedure has its advantages.
Holep surgery more efficient and cost effective method of BPH
HOLEP surgery is a type of laser surgery used to treat the blockage (blockage) of urine flow as a result of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In men with HBP, the prostate is not cancerous but became enlarged. An enlarged prostate can result in several urinary tract symptoms such as the frequency of urination, the inability to urinate, the difficulty of starting urination, or loss of control of the bladder.
Benefits of prostate laser surgery
Laser surgery targets expanded prostate tissue and provides rapid relief from moderate to severe HPP, with less risk of major bleeding and fast recovery. The laser uses a concentrated light to spray excess tissue or eliminate the obstructive tissue of the prostate. This uninvasive procedure is beneficial for treating or preventing complications of BPH, including frequent urinary tract infections, bladder stones, the inability to empty your bladder and damage to kidney and bladder.
Surgical treatment for BPH
Surgical treatment for bph are a good choice for many men. If your symptoms are severe or minimally invasive surgical treatments don’t help with your enlarged prostate, your doctor will likely recommend another kind of surgery.
Laser surgery for enlarged prostate
Laser surgery for enlarged prostate is used to relieve moderate to severe urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate.
